Gracie NEPA Judo Launches All New Website!

Saturday May 8th- The Judo Club at the Gracie NEPA academy, located at 717 Capouse Ave in Scranton, proudly announced its All new website today, A site that they hope will better serve not only the members of the club, but members of the community to become better acquainted with the sport of judo.
“Everything today is internet based” says assistant coach and site creator Matt Marcinek “so it is very important for us to have a website which will allow our guys the ability to find out information about classes or upcoming competitions while at the same time having enough basic information so that the novice guy on the street can say “I think I’d like to give that a shot” and I we’ve done that with this new site”
The site, which features a sleek new Black and silver design, still contains the standard information from the old site like the about us page, the instructors page, and a page that gives a brief history of judo, but it also has some new features which Matt went into detail about:

“Starting from the top, you will see that we have added some new pages to the site namely, the “upcoming competitions page” and the “contact us” page

Upcoming Competitions- This is page that I think will be vitally important to our club, we have always been able to find out about tournaments on the internet through sites like judocalendar.com, but never had we had one place to find out about all the upcoming events. Now, we have a calendar which links directly to the registration forms for the tournaments. So, if you want to compete check the calendar, and find out when the next competition is. You know longer have to wait for one of the coaches to bring it up

Contact us- Too many times someone has tried to leave us a question or a comment about the site only to get lost in a flood of SPAM comments. So what we’ve done is close all comments ad replace them with the “contact us” form so now if you have a question or comment, just fill the form out and it will be sent to our e-mail address. This will help us disperse information much easier

Continuing down the page, you see that under the header, we now have an announcement bar. Here, will be where you find announcements on class cancellations, times we are leaving for tournaments, and any quick announcements that need to be made without having to read a full blog post.
On the right side of the page, you will see a Find Us on box which lists all the different social media sites we use as a club. Social media is HUGE right now and we want as many people as possible to know about what we do here and this box will help people find us easier

And finally at the bottom of the page, our Sponsor’s area. We are the only Judo club in the area to be sponsored by a local business and we are extremely proud and honored by that fact so we have included a link to Smiler’s facebook page and we encourage everybody to check them out”
